Every year the hubs & i make sure to commemorate our wedding anniversary.
Our honeymoon (destination was a surprise to me, completely planned by the hubs) was to the Poconos, with side trips to Scranton & New York!
Our one year anniversary was to Disney World, can you believe my husband had never been?!? (well, he *went* but was only like 6mos old so it totally doesn't count!) And other than getting our car broken into I'd say that was an awesomely successful trip!
Last year, to celebrate our two year anniversary, we tried to incorporate some good friends! We decided on a trip to Colorado during Christmas time...but the friends we were going with ended up getting pregnant & their due date loomed around our trip time (turned out to be one precious baby!). Then we were going to hit up North Georgia (again around Christmas time) with the BIL & SIL...they were in the middle of an adoption process that moved quicker than anticipated. As you can probably guess, their first trip to visit my precious nephew was right around our vacation time. Sooo, the hubs & I decided it was high time to visit a good friend of ours up north & hit up DC while we were there!
This year, we're lucky enough to be celebrating three years! i know that to many of you that is nothing more than a drop in the bucket but we're pretty excited! (Only two years till Italy, right babe? ) Anyway...we're a bit shorter on funds this year than we have been in the past & we were tossing ideas around as to where we could go, what we could do...and we decided to do a wilderness trip this year! We're going to go camping! Hopefully with a side of hiking, kayaking, canoeing, or even white water rafting!
We're looking at the following places:
Montana (might be *too* cold for the time considering)
Oregon (again...we'll have to check on weather & stuff)
We'd *LOVE* to have friends join us on this trip! Whether for part of the time or the whole time! We're all about that old adage "the more the merrier!" We're pretty excited! we've got a good start on our camping gear but are always looking to improve the goods! So if you, or anyone you know is looking to get rid of some gear, PLEASE let us know!
What we've got:
we're hoping to find a tent along these lines a 3-man backpacking tent:
and of course some other things...hoping to be able to borrow a pack or two from my dad...of course we'll need a compass, etc! As i mentioned we're willing to take on hand-me-downs!
Also, we're looking for volunteers to join us or recommendations as to *where* to go! :)
